Job Duties (Include but are not limited too):
Maintain and demonstrate and understanding of the team approach to patient care and documentation.
Complete and present the medical record in collaboration with the supervising physician.
Pursue continuing education through clinical experiences to enhance skills and knowledge in the promotion of quality documentation.
Participate in ongoing educational opportunities as offered by Brooke Medical Center.
Accompany the physician upon patient interview and examination.
Document the physician dictated patient history, including history of present illness, review of systems, past medical and surgical history, family and social histories, medications and allergies. Manually and/or electronically document all patient care given on any system utilized by BAMC to track and progress patient's concern/complaint utilizing the Departmental documentation standards in the patient's medical record.
Document physical examination findings and procedures performed by the physician.
Document the results of laboratory and radio-graphic studies as dictated by the physician.
High School Graduate
Must have completed a medical terminology course or one year medical terminology experience in a clinical setting.
Must have and maintain a current certification: American College of Medical Scribe Specialists (ACMSS).
Monday-Friday 6:00AM-6:00PM (8 hour days, no more than 40 hours per week, 1 hour non-paid lunch)
