<p><strong>Job Duties:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Perform routine diagnostic radiological procedures/services according to MTF protocol.</li>
<li>Adhere to radiation safety policies and procedures in accordance with Radiology Department policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Practices safety principles. Performs two patient identifier verification of patients. Assists with consent procedures prior to exams requiring written consent from patients. Safely oversees, and brings to practice, As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principles for patients and staff. Performs equipment quality control checks. Monitors personnel to ensure protective procedures such as radiation safety, hazardous material communications, and Air Force Occupational Safety and Health programs are followed. Performs tests on radiation protection equipment. Assesses staff competence, and monitors appropriateness of care and completeness of examination requests.</li>
<li>Send appropriate image series to the radiologist for reading according to MTF/MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) protocol.</li>
<li>Correctly position the patient for the examination and make technical adjustments necessary for the required examination. Determine if any special patient preparation is required.</li>
<li>Process digital images and submit for interpretation by radiologists.</li>
<li>Document all procedures and maintain records in accordance with MTF policy.</li>
<li>As directed, perform system quality control tasks according to the manufacturer and MTF policy. Recognize artifacts and equipment errors and notify designated Government personnel of outlying values.</li>
<li>Initiate repair call procedures for equipment malfunctions by notifying designated Government personnel. Report problems to the Biomedical Repair Section and record the problem condition in the trouble call log book.</li>
<li>Observe and report to the radiologist any symptoms which have direct bearing on the patient's condition as a result of adverse reaction to contrast media and inform the radiologist of any condition requiring his/her attention. Recognize the need for and institute the necessary emergency measures for situations where a person requires resuscitation procedures due to cardiac or respiratory arrest.</li>
<li>Performs front desk duties to include receiving patients and imaging requests, scheduling, and explaining methods of examination in person and over the telephone. Prepares and processes examination requests. Enters and maintains data in radiology information systems. Assesses patient clinical history. Consults with referring physicians and technicians as necessary to obtain information regarding patient’s examination. Utilizes hospital information systems.</li>
<li>Utilizes the Picture Archiving Computer System (PACS) to acquire, transmit and store digital examinations.</li>
<li>Images to be read remotely will be transmitted by the technologist, according to department policies, utilizing PACS.</li>

<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p>
<p><strong>Education:</strong>  Completion of the following:</p>
<ul>
<li>Graduate from an academic program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)</li>
</ul>
<p><strong> </strong><strong>Experience:</strong>  Candidates must have the following experience:</p>
<ul>
<li>At least one (1) year of experience as a radiologic technologist operating e-ray equipment, and assisting with fluoroscopy and special radiographic procedures.</li>
<li>Must be knowledgeable in anatomy and physiology; medical terminology and ethics; legal aspects of medicine; healthcare accreditation standards; radiation physics, radiobiology, and radiation protection; basic electronics theory; techniques of operating radiographic and specialized diagnostic imaging equipment; radiographic positioning; patient care and monitoring techniques; image recording media and processing techniques; quality control procedures; infection control; aseptic and sterile techniques; reactions to contrast media; BLS; methods of recording the fluoroscopic image; and medical records administration.</li>

<p><strong> </strong><strong>License/Certification and Training:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) from the American Heart Association</li>
<li>Active state license to practice as a Radiologic Technologist, and current registration as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (AART).</li>
</ul>

<li>7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1hour unpaid lunch)</li>
