 Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Must possess the ability to independently: Conduct psychosocial assessments and provide psychosocial treatment to a wide variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, ethnic, educational, and other diversified backgrounds.  Provide counseling and/or psychotherapy services to individuals, groups, and families.  Provide consultation services to other staff about the psychosocial needs of patients and the impact of psychosocial problems on health care and compliance with treatment.  Evaluate own practice through participation in a professional peer review case conferences or other organized means.
  • Must possess the knowledge and experience to:  Use computer software applications for drafting documents, data management, and tracking.
  • Meet mental health clinic productivity requirements for direct patient care, with the expectation to have 5.5 hours of codable direct patient care scheduled per day, unless otherwise directed by the mental health flight commander.
  • Ability to work and communicate professionally as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team. Attend training and meetings as directed by the MTF policy or as directed by the supervisor.
  • Ability to effectively utilize electronic health record systems in support of the delivery of clinical care, completing required documentation within required time frames.
  • Provide clinical supervision to unlicensed credentialed providers as needed or when directed by supervisor or Mental Health Flight Commander.
  • Ability to provide walk-in triage and assessment services in addition to scheduled patient care as clinic demand indicates or when directed by supervisor or Mental Health Flight Commander.
  • Shall be able to effectively use a computer and be able to type at a minimum of 40 words per minute.
  • Competent or able to quickly learn various applications required in the performance of their duties, with no additional training within 3 months of being trained.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Completion of the following:

  • Graduate with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or (Psy.D.) degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an  accredited psychology program.
  • Successfully completed an accredited internship/residency in professional psychology.

Experience: Candidates must have the following experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience within the last five (5) years in the independent practice of clinical psychology in a mental health setting working with an adult population or with children and teens if specifically working with that population.

Security:

  • National Background Investigation
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from site

License/Certification and Training:

  • Possess and maintain a current, unrestricted clinical license to practice clinical psychology in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. A clinical psychology license is defined as a license that allows the Clinical Psychologist to practice independently without clinical supervision.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
  • Shall be in good standing, and under no clinical restrictions, with the state license board in any state in which a license is held or has been held within the last 10 years. Contractor personnel shall maintain current certification in required training.
  • Must show proof of training (a certificate of completion of training on Cognitive Processing Therapy, or Prolonged Exposure Therapy, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy by a continuing education provider) and ability to deliver an Evidence Based Treatment modality to treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  Approved Evidence Based Treatment modalities include Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy.

  • Monday to Friday between the hours of 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
